Q. What is Fixed aspect ratio (General tab of GraphWave
Properties dialog box? A. If you select Fixed aspect ratio, the
Zoom tool locks in the current aspect ratio and uses it in all Zoom
operations.
Q. What is the Graph view?
A. The Graph view is the GraphWave control area where graphs
are displayed together with axis, grid lines, and tool objects. There are
three graph views available: 2D, 3D, and 3DTopo.
Q. What are the objects in the Graph view? A. The
objects included in the Graph view are axes, markers, regions, and
labels.
Q. What are the graphs in the Graph
view? A. The graphs displayed in the Graph view are visual
representations of the data loaded into the GraphWave
control.
Q. What are the tools available in
GraphWave? A. The Select tool is the primary tool in GraphWave.
You use the Select tool to select, move, and resize objects in the Graph
view. The Marker, Region, and Label tools are used to create markers,
regions, or labels. The Tracer and Difference Tracer tools allow you to
examine data in the Graph view.
Q. Are tooltips
available for objects in the Graph view? A. If you select Show
tooltips in the GraphWave Properties dialog box, a tooltips window is
displayed every time when you move the mouse over an object in the Graph
view.

Q. How can I select an object
in the Graph view? A. To select an object in the Graph view,
click on it with the Select tool. You can also press the TAB key until the
object is selected.
Q. How can I delete an
object in the Graph view? A. To delete an object in the Graph
view, select the object and press the DEL key.
Q. What is the Tracer tool? A. Tracer tool shows
parts of the graph that have same height (Z-axis value)
Q. Which curves can I activate the Tracer for? A.
You use the Tracer tool on an active curve. To select a curve, you use the
Data Browser window.
Q. How do I access the
tools in GraphWave? A. To access the tools, right-click in the
Graph view.
Q. How do I access additional
options and windows in GraphWave? A. Click on the Graph menu
button (blue button in the top left corner of the graph
window).
Q. What control windows are available
in GraphWave? A. There are three windows: Info, Data Browser,
and Navigator.
Q. What is the Navigator
window? A. The Navigator window is used to control the Graph
view parameters – camera position, rotation, and zoom.
Q. What do you use the thumbnails in the Navigator window
for? A. You can save a current graph view (including position,
rotation, and zoom settings) in a thumbnail, and retrieve the view at a
later time.
Q. What is a graph
engine? A. Graph engines are plug-ins used to display actual
graphics.
Q. Can I load multiple graphs into a single
control? A. Yes. You can also browse through the active graphs using
the Data Browser window.
Q. How do I stop the
Data Browser window from closing automatically? A. If you go
into the GraphWave Properties dialog box, select the General tab, and in
the Data browser window box, clear the Autohide checkbox.
Q. How do I zoom to a particular part of the
graph? A. Select the Zoom tool, click in the Graph view, and
select the area of the graph you want to analyze. To select vertically,
press Ctrl, drag the lower display limit to the required height, release
Ctrl and drag the higher display limit to the required
height.
Q. I have zoomed into the wrong part of
the graph. How do I reset to the original zoom? A. Use the Zoom
tool, and double-click anywhere in the graph window.
Q. How do I change the display of the graph to
wireframe? A. Open the Data Browser window, double-click on the
graph icon (or right-click and select Properties), and select Wireframe in
the Drawing box.
Q. I want to change specific
data of the graph. Can it be done? A. Yes. Open the Data Browser
window, right-click on the graph icon, and select Data. The Data Editor
window opens and lets you change graph data.
